Welcome to another episode of Somethin’ to Tech About! Today we are focusing on three big takeaways from the virtual Georgia Educational Technology Conference held recently.  Virtual hugs and high fives to the coordinators of GAETC Connect!  They pulled off an amazingly organized and user friendly conference experience for everyone involved.  As we reflected on the conference experience, we found ourselves revisiting three major themes which are so important for educators - not only during remote or hybrid learning, but even when we are working in the classroom with students. Getting the right Gear, Getting and Keeping Students Involved, and Getting Students Producing.

Dr. Monica Burns
Dr. Monica Burns is a Curriculum and EdTech Consultant, Apple Distinguished Educator and Founder of ClassTechTips.com. As a classroom teacher in New York City, Monica used digital tools to create an engaging, differentiated learning experience to meet the unique needs of her students. Monica started her blog Class Tech Tips in 2012 to help make EdTech easier for fellow educators, and launched the Easy EdTech Podcast and her membership site the Easy EdTech Club to support educators who want to simplify and streamline technology integration. 
Since starting Class Tech Tips Monica has led workshops and webinars, and provided keynote presentations to teachers, instructional coaches, administrators and tech-enthusiasts at numerous national and international conferences including SXSWedu, ISTE, FETC and EduTECH. Monica is the author of Tasks Before Apps: Designing Rigorous Learning in a Tech-Rich Classroom (ASCD), two quick reference guides for ASCD on Distance Learning Essentials and Classroom Technology Tips, as well as several other publications.

Welcome to Episode 1 of Season 4 of Somethin' to Tech About! Today we have Daniel Rivera, a numbers and data guru joining us. Daniel currently serves as the Technology Director for First District RESA and serves 17 counties. Daniel has provided instructional technology leadership, guidance, and professional development for K-12 and university students, faculty, and staff for 16 years and has been presenting at conferences regularly for 12 years. Daniel is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Google for Education Innovator.
