For our final episode of 2020, we want to encourage and inspire anyone thinking about completing Google for Education Certifications over the winter break to go for it! We gathered a great panel to help us give that little push you may be needing to get certified or continue with another level. Each panelist gives their take on experiences and benefits of being Google for Education Certified and we hope by listening you will be inspired! May Jue
Google for Education Program Manager May majored in Business at UC Berkeley and her first job out of college was at Intel Corporation working in Finance. She then earned her Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math and taught High School Math for 2 years in East San Jose. May then came to Google to work on Compensation - more numbers, before finally getting the opportunity to land a spot on the Google for Education team, now owning the Trainer and GEG programs. Hollie Sisk
Google Certified Innovator Hollie serves the College of Education as the Director for the Instructional Support and Resources Center at Georgia Southern University on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses. As a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer, she enjoys sharing her passion for student engagement. Hollie believes purposeful professional development empowers educators to transform learning, ignite change, and break down the walls of their classrooms while providing authentic learning experiences for all students. Jessica Horton
Google Certified Coach Jessica is a Business Education teacher and Choice Program Admissions Coordinator at Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts. She has a masters of education in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University, and is currently completing her doctoral degree in Workforce Education at the University of Georgia. Jessica is a Google Certified Educator Level 1 and 2, a Google Certified Trainer, and a Google Certified Coach, as well as an Apple Teacher. She serves as an advisor for Future Business Leaders of America and National Junior Honor Society. Her interests include teaching personal finance and transforming education with technology. Dana Gibbs
Google Certified Educator Levels 1 & 2 Dana is a Savannah, Georgia born Google Certified Educator Level 1 and 2. She started her career teaching 7th-grade math. After twelve years of teaching secondary math and science, she transitioned into being an instructional coach. Dana currently serves as a K-5 instructional coach at the School of Humanities at Juliette Low. Outside of helping teachers, Dana loves creating, crafting, and spending time with her sons.
